Here is a spotlight of some of our amazing Serving Sunday partners!

Hill Country Mission for Health

Missionforhealth.org
Hill Country Mission for Health (HCMH) is a medical ministry providing charitable primary healthcare for eligible low-income, uninsured adults in Kendall County and surrounding communities through private, non-governmental support. The Hill Country Mission for Health vision is to be the focal point in the community for providing quality charitable healthcare for Kendall County residents in need.

When you serve HCMH you are a part of caring for this valuable ministry and the work they do in our community. Many being served by this organization are experiencing difficult medical situations. Being able to arrive at a facility that is welcoming and beautiful can help give them peace of mind that they will be cared for well. Thank you for serving HCMH by power washing and improving landscaping at their office in Boerne!

Love Kendall County Kids

(formerly Boerne Community Coalition) Boernecommunitycoalition.com
In March 2015, members of the Kendall County Food Council decided to launch a program to provide food during the summer months for children eligible for the Federal Meal Program during the school year. The Boerne Community Coalition (BCC) was created to fill this gap.

In the summer of 2015, with the mayor’s support and, in partnership with Taking It to The Streets, the BCC began to provide meals to children by taking a mobile food truck into their neighborhoods. The summer ended with the first Community Workday, in which the BCC helped to repair homes in need and held a cookout with the children and their families.

Since then, the BCC has evolved into LOVE Kendall County Kids (LKCK) which better reflects our span of reach throughout Kendall County with programs focusing on food, enrichment, and critical home repairs for those in need. Over the summer months and school breaks, lunches are delivered each weekday to children participating in local camps and enrichment programs. Eligible children can receive scholarships to these camps and programs through LOVE Kendall County Kids partnerships with organizations.

When you serve with Love Kendall County Kids you are helping them serve the next generation in our community by ensuring that no child goes without food during school breaks and summer months. As a family arrives at the LKCK office, the team wants them to feel welcome and comfortable! Cleaning up the building, painting, and landscaping all help create an environment that says, ‘we see you and we care about you!’ Thank you for serving with Love Kendall County Kids!

The Center

Thecenterboerne.org
The Center’s mission is to enrich the quality of life for older adults through a system of programs guiding us to live well as we age. Their core values include building connections, renewing purpose, and empowering independence. From an active retiree looking to fill their newfound leisure time through supporting a homebound neighbor relying on a daily wellness check and delivery of a hot meal, The Center promotes opportunities to live longer and healthier lives. The Center offers a place for gatherings and events at the Kronkosky Place, Meals on Wheels, transportation, a medical loan closet and a thrift shop! This is a wonderful resource for our senior population and is used by so many.

By cleaning the back patio and refreshing the patio tables and chairs, you are a part of helping this wonderful organization as they serve our senior citizens. Thank you for serving at The Center!

Kendall County Women’s Shelter

Kcwstexas.org
The mission of Kendall County Women's Shelter (KCWS) is to provide safe, emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence. They foster a supportive environment where victims and their children can receive the support services they need to start the healing process and build new lives. They provide community education on this difficult topic, volunteer opportunities to be a part of the solution and a thrift store that helps fund the care they provide to victims.

As a result of the hard work of its board and volunteers – and the generous support of the local community – the Kendall County Women’s Shelter opened the facility in the Spring of 2012 to provide a safe place to end domestic violence, one family at a time. And they have been a faithful presence in our community ever since!

When you choose to serve at the KCWS, you are showing tell this organization and those they serve that we are with them and for them. Register to serve and invite a friend to join you here!
