Disaster Relief: How you can help
July 8, 2025
There are four key ways you can join our efforts in disaster relief:
Pray, Donate, Give and Serve.
1. PRAY
In times of crisis, prayer is our most
powerful response. While we may not be able to be everywhere physically, our prayers reach far and remind
those hurting that they are not alone. As we lift up the families and communities affected, we ask that you
take intentional time this week to intercede on their behalf.
Here are a few specific ways to pray:
- For comfort and peace for families who have lost homes, property, or loved ones
- For strength and protection for first responders and rescue teams
- For wisdom and endurance for local leaders and organizations coordinating relief
- For unity and compassion across our communities
- For clear direction on how each of us can best help
If you or someone you know has a specific prayer need, we would love to come alongside you in that need. Click here to share your request.
2. DONATE
Thank you to so many of you who have already donated in a time where many need to know we are with them and
for them! We will continue to accept donations of cleaning supplies and bottled water
through Thursday of this week, from 9:00am to 5:00pm in the church
lobby. We are especially in need of buckets, but all items are helpful.
After Thursday, you can continue to drop off supplies at:
Hill Country Daily Bread at 38
Cascade Cavern, Boerne, TX 78015
Drop off at Bay #4, Monday–Friday any time between 9am–3pm.
3. GIVE
If you'd like to give financially, we encourage prioritizing local organizations, as they are trusted
partners who are committed to long-term recovery and can remain focused on our immediate area. We recommend
the following:
Local Organizations (Most Direct Impact):
Statewide Organizations (Wider Reach, Ongoing Support):
National Organizations (Crisis Management):
There are also many other excellent local, state and national non-profits who are doing meaningful work in
the area. We encourage you to research and give as you feel led.
4. SERVE
We know many of you are eager to show up and serve those who are suffering. That is beautiful and what God
calls us to do. However, it's important to recognize that disaster areas are currently overwhelmed with
well-meaning volunteers. The media often shares rapidly changing information, and it can be hard to know
what’s needed in real time. We encourage you to consider the opportunities below as a way to physically
serve so many in need in a way that is most helpful today.
SERVE NOW
If you're looking for a way to help immediately, we have 2 great local opportunities that will allow you to
step into a place of need right away:
- Serve at Hill Country Daily Bread – Volunteer at HCDB to unload, sort and package items for distribution
for use in the disaster relief efforts. Click here to sign up.
- Train with “Just Help One” - Learn the best way to help with "muck-out" and what to
expect in a disaster area. This is a great way to prepare for when the time comes to help on-site. There
are no physical limitations on who can attend, however you must be 18 years of age or older. Training
sessions will last about 30 minutes and are being held at Oak Hills Church at 19595 IH-10 West, San Antonio, 78256.
- Training Session Times:
- Wednesday, July 9th: 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm in room W103

- Serve with Operation Blessing - Operation Blessing is seeking local volunteers to assist with various projects in the disaster areas. There are opportunities to serve Monday-Saturday, 8:30am-4:30pm. Half-day shifts are available starting at 1pm each day. Must be 18 years of age or older. Click here to learn more.
SERVING IN THE FUTURE
As a church, we are committed to partnering strategically and responsibly with state and local agencies. We
will wait for clear direction from our ministry partners with “boots on the ground” as to when and how it is
best to go and serve in one of the impacted areas.
Currently, Hill Country Daily Bread is coordinating efforts with several organizations,
local officials and area churches and will mobilize volunteer teams as needs arise. Click here to learn more about how you can get involved with their work.
